Specialists in Critical Care and Family Medicine Join the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group

HONOLULU, HI – December 26, 2012 –
Kaiser Permanente Hawaii today announced the addition of two new physicians – Peter Lee, MD, a specialist in critical care medicine, and Steve Yasui, MD, a specialist in family medicine, who join over 500 physicians and providers of the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group (HPMG), the state’s largest multi-specialty medical group, providing comprehensive care to Kaiser Permanente’s 227,000-plus members.

Kamehameha Schools hosts A Ka Pua Holiday Celebration
Kamehameha Schools' Ka Pua Initiative is taking a moment to celebrate the holiday season with friends and neighbors in the Wai'anae Coast community.

The Ka Pua holiday celebration will offer a chance to come together for a night filled with crafts, food pictures with Santa and holiday cheer.   The evening will also be an opportunity for the community to talk story with Kamehameha Schools' Ka Pua Initiative team to learn about many of the exciting projects and programs underway including the progress on its Community Learning Center at Mā'ili, 'Ohana 'Ike college and career readiness program for Nānākuli students, a new community schools program and much more.

In addition to all of the activities, guests will be treated to a performance by the Nānākuli Performing Arts Center.

Leeward residents asked to conserve water after main break

WAIANAE (HawaiiNewsNow)- UPDATE at 4:19 p.m. on Sunday: The Board of Water Supply says crews have completed repairs to the 24-inch water main break near Hakimo Road. Roads are still closed as crews work to fix the roadway. BWS is still asking all Leeward coast residents to conserve water.

Four minors injured in Nanakuli car accident

NANAKULI (HawaiiNewsNow)-  

Four minors were injured during a car crash in Nanakuli on Saturday morning, according to paramedics.
The accident happened at around 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of Auyong Homestead Road and Farrington Highway.
Authorities say that two boys, ages 12 and 14, were taken to a hospital in serious but stable condition after they were ejected from the back of a pickup truck during the collision.
Two 17-year-old boys who were in a second vehicle were also taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition.

HONOLULU (December 14, 2012) – The race is on!  The public has the opportunity to decide which Hawaii non-profit will win an additional $5,000 from Subaru Hawaii during its “Share the Love” sales event. In addition to the $5,000 bonus to one lucky non-profit, Subaru Hawaii will donate $250 to a group of great causes for every new vehicle sold by December 31 -- Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii, Hawaii Wildlife Fund, Oahu SPCA, SPCA Maui and Hawaii Island Humane Society.
